At the start of my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, I used painting watercolors as a way to stay present and slow down in order to gradually build my fitness. This plein-air painting features Sunrise Mountain, NJ on an overcast afternoon in late June.
The original painting traveled with me in my backpack for hundreds of miles until I could send it home with a stack of other paintings. It was created on a 3.5" x 4"-piece of watercolor paper with a paint set that was the size of the palm of my hand.
This print is 8" x 10" on thick matte paper.
