This painting was created from a reference photo I took of a pony in the Grayson Highlands. I painted it in a hotel room in a town near the Appalachian Trail, barely able to keep my eyes open after a long day of hiking while I made the finishing touches.
This painting traveled with me in my backpack for hundreds of miles until I could send it home with a stack of other paintings. It was originally created on a 3.5" x 4"-piece of watercolor paper with a paint set that was the size of the palm of my hand.
