This plein-air painting came to life on a chilly evening in early August as the sun was setting on distant, cloud-enveloped ridges in the White Mountains.
This painting's imperfections reflect the journey it took in my backpack for hundreds of miles until I could take it home. It was created on a 3.5" x 4"-piece of watercolor paper with a paint set that was the size of the palm of my hand.
