This piece was painted en plein air at Ethan Pond in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I was nearing the end of my northbound section of the AT and reflecting on my journey up to that point as I painted.
This painting traveled with me in my backpack for hundreds of miles until I could send it home with a stack of other paintings. It was originally created on a 3.5" x 4"-piece of watercolor paper with a paint set the size of the palm of my hand.
